OUR STORY
The courage to start again
Motorhome Ecopark grew out of the experience of actually living the motorhome lifestyle — we’ve been travelling around Europe by motorhome for 16 years. At 50, we left our jobs in the public sector in Lisbon to start again from scratch in the Algarve — it wasn’t an easy decision, but we stepped outside our comfort zone to build, with our own hands, somewhere calm, simple and genuine, far from the mass tourism of the Algarve coast.
It took years of work, sacrifice and uncertainty before we opened our doors. And shortly after we did, the pandemic nearly threatened everything we’d built — guests vanished overnight. It was the hardest moment of our journey, but also the most rewarding.
There’s no right age to start again. Fear is part of the journey, and dreams always come at a price — courage, work, sacrifice, persistence. Life changes when we decide to change it.
WHERE WE ARE
Between the hills and the sea, without the noise
We’re on the outskirts of São Brás de Alportel, a short drive from popular beaches and towns like Faro, Loulé and Tavira — without the noise that comes with them. Spread over 6 hectares, with room for 80 motorhomes, relax in the shade of a centuries-old cork oak: Ecopark is surrounded by natural trails and native vegetation, in an untouched green area that covers more than half the property.
